MahaSivaratri at Anaikatti
It is observed that spiritual practices undertaken on Sivaratri are very much effective. During the whole day and remaining awake on the night, nama japa and panchaksari mantra japa are conscientiously done.
Anaikatti Gurukulam observed Maha Sivaratri as per time honoured tradition.
Regular puja was done at Lord Dakshinamurti temple from 5 a.m.
Akhanda Nama Japa
Led by Swami Atmatriptananda, there was akhanda nama japa of the pancaksari mantra ‘Om Namah Sivaya’ from 7 AM to 3 PM. All the Swamis, Swaminis and Students at AVG, Anaikatti took turns and chanted the mantra with devotion and enthusiasm accompanied by many musical instruments. The whole Gurukulam was vibrating with the chant ‘Om Namah Sivaya’.
Ekadasa Rudra Abhisheka
The chanting of Sri Rudram commenced at 4 pm. During each of the 11 chants, 11 different dravya abhiseka was performed to Lord Medha Daksinamurthy and Lord Narmadesvara.
Shodasa upachara puja was elaborately done. The evening puja concluded at 8 PM with Maha Arati.
During the night, three kala pujas were performed for Lord Narmadesvara. Led by Swami Atmatriptananda bhajans were sung for the whole night with passion and dedication.
It was a great and memorable day filled with holy chants and bhajans.
